Joe Williams retired and after moving to Oregon decided to find a Light Sport qualifying airplane.
He bought his Ercoupe in late 2013. It is a 1946 415C model with 85hp. It underwent an extensive restoration in Santa Rosa, California in 2012.  Joe says he's looking forward to some low and slow flying now, without rudders !

Joe Williams had his first hands-on experience with airplanes at the age of 13 as a flagger for crop dusters in South Texas.  He got his Private  Pilot  license in 1990 and has since logged about 500 hours, mostly in an A-36 Bonanza and a Cessna 182 but has also flown a Cessna Citation and a P-51 Mustang.

The exhilaration
of flying
is too keen,
the pleasure too great,
for it to be neglected
as a sport.
